We are a collaboration of brothers, John and Pat Hyland, from Youngstown, Ohio. We both share the same passion for nature and photography, but have very different philosophies and styles to our approach in conveying the beauty of nature.

 John: "My interest is in photographing landscapes. I have always had a keen interest in the forces of nature. A profound order pervades all things. Landscapes reveal the interplay of life with geology and climate, played out over periods of time that defy comprehension. My photographs are an attempt to record the beauty and harmony and eternity of the world we inhabit. I work with 35mm. and medium format film camera. I have found the computer allows great flexibility and freedom in making prints. My film is digitized and printed with archival inks and paper, creating images of quality and durability."

Pat: "My approach to photography originates in my formal training in Fine Art. I look for more intimate and subtle compositions. I believe it is the little things in life that connect with our emotions. True, we can get swept with epic panoramas, but I feel photography should place us within the composition, giving an emotional connection, not as a spectator viewing it. Using a digital camera has opened a new world for me. It is completely un-inhibiting and expressive. I prefer the immediacy of the LCD screen over slide or print film. We can also restore images cracked, stained, or in need of special care. We have a fine collection of work that could be used for professional offices and businesses."
